Abstract

Assistance to pregnant women is a form of community service activity community and the aim is to increase community participation in efforts to improve maternal and child health. One of the efforts to reduce maternal mortality is by maximizing the assistance of pregnant women. ANC service is a pregnancy service that aims to monitor the weight of pregnant women. Physiological changes are associated with weight gain during pregnancy about 25% of pre-pregnancy. Normal weight during pregnancy will increase in the second and third trimesters of 0.5 kg / week. To determine the effect of mentoring by involving PKK mothers on weight control for pregnant women. This research is a quasi-experimental research design a nonequivalent control group design. With a sample of 28 pregnant women divided into two groups (intervention and control). The data collection technique used an observation sheet. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences between the control group and the intervention group. There is an effect of mentoring on the intervention group ?-value = 0.025 < 0.05. There is an Effect of Mentoring By involving PKK Mothers on Weight Control of Pregnant Women. So, it is hoped that health workers and PKK mothers can assist pregnant women in controlling body weight.
