Abstract

Dental and oral health is an integral part of overall health that directly affects quality of life, chewing function, and speaking ability. This community service activity aimed to improve students' knowledge, awareness, and independence in maintaining dental and oral health through the implementation of the family dentist concept. The activity was conducted at SMA PAB 8 Sampali, Percut Sei Tuan, targeting high school students. The methods used included interactive health education, lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, demonstrations of oral hygiene maintenance, and the use of educational media such as leaflets and presentation materials. Knowledge levels were evaluated using pretest and posttest questionnaires. The results showed an improvement in students' understanding of the importance of continuous dental health services, preventive measures, and regular coordination with family dentists. This activity was effective in encouraging the development of clean and healthy living behaviors within the school environment.
