Penguatan Penerapan Nilai Sila Keempat Pancasila Dalam Pengambilan Keputusan Bersama Di Lingkungan Masyarakat
Keywords:
fourth principle of Pancasila, deliberation, courage to express opinionsAbstract
The fourth principle of Pancasila emphasizes deliberation to reach consensus in joint decision-making. In daily life, however, some people tend to remain passive when their opinions are rejected or differ from others, choosing to give in to avoid conflict. This community-oriented mini research and idea engineering aimed to describe how the fourth principle is applied in joint decision-making and to propose an idea for strengthening it. Data were collected on 26 September 2026 at Gor Dispora Pancing through open-ended interviews with three university student respondents, covering their experience in joint decision-making, their attitude when their opinions were rejected, and how they faced people who impose their will. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the respondents listened to and respected others' opinions and did not impose their will, but two of the three tended to yield under rejection or pressure. Based on these findings, the idea engineering focuses on increasing the courage to express opinions politely in deliberation through understanding of values, a simple polite-speaking pattern, equal opportunity to speak, and speaking practice. In conclusion, the fourth principle is reasonably well applied, but the courage to express opinions still needs to be strengthened; the idea has not yet been tested, so its effectiveness requires further testing.
