Hygiene in children by having good and correct hand washing habits is a sanitation action by cleaning hands and fingers using water and soap so that they become clean to avoid all forms of disease. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of health promotion using video media and simulation on students' knowledge and attitudes about hand washing with soap (CTPS) at SD PAB 4, Deli Serdang Regency In this study used quantitative research with Pre-Experimental Designs with a One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The population in this study is 195 students in grades 4, 5, and 6 with a sample of 31 students using the Purposive Sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with normality test and paired sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed that the respondents' answer value or mean for pretest knowledge was 4.16, for posttest knowledge was 8.94. Meanwhile, for the pretest attitude is 4.48, for the posttest attitude is 10.06. The probability value of knowledge and attitude before and after being given health promotion using video media and simulation was (sig-p) 0.000 < 0.05. This means that there is an effectiveness of health promotion using video media and simulation on students' knowledge and attitudes about handwashing with soap (CTPS). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effectiveness of health promotion using video media and simulation on students' knowledge and attitudes about washing hands with soap (CTPS). It is hoped that the school will counsel students about the benefits of CTPS using health promotion media such as videos and simulations, so that it can attract students' attention and can carry out CTPS habits correctly in preventing the arrival of disease.
