There are still many students who do not understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy snacks, while the choice of snacks around the school is very diverse. This study assesses the effectiveness of health promotion through leaflet media in increasing knowledge about healthy snacks in junior high school students at Tahfizh Qur'an Amanah 1 Medan College. The research design is a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest with a total sample of 68 students (total population). The normality test used the Kolmogorov–Smirnov at ? = 0.05, and the bivariate analysis used a paired sample t-test. Results showed that 67 out of 68 students experienced an increase in knowledge scores after the leaflet intervention; p-value = 0.000 (< 0.05) indicates that leaflet-based health promotion is effective in increasing knowledge about healthy snacks. These findings corroborate that simple print media that is designed to be concise with definitions, examples of safe snacks, and tips for reading food labels can strengthen health education messages in schools. Research recommends that schools monitor snacks in canteens and surrounding areas, as well as carry out routine health promotion using leaflets as counseling reinforcements. In the future, follow-up research can compare the effectiveness of leaflets with interactive digital media and assess the sustainability of changes in eating healthy snack behavior
