Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is the main cause of death in the world and is still showing an increasing trend in Indonesia. Low knowledge and attitudes towards hypertension prevention are one of the causes of suboptimal healthy living behaviors in society, including in the work environment. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest–posttest approach to assess the effectiveness of health talk using poster media on improving hypertension control knowledge and attitudes in employees of PT Pangan Sari Utama. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in knowledge (p = 0.001) and attitude (p = 0.001) between before and after the intervention. The average attitude value increased by 3.613, indicating a positive change in hypertension control awareness and behavior. Health promotion through health talk assisted by poster media has been proven effective in increasing employees' knowledge and attitudes towards hypertension control. These interventions can be efficient and sustainable workplace health promotion strategies to encourage healthy living behaviors and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
